When Selling or Leasing Your Property Should You Use Your Own Photographer?
Updated: Mar 26, 2023
When it comes to selling or listing a property, we believe in doing a thorough research and hiring a top-notch photographer, preferably one who specializes in real estate.
Sure, it might cost you a bit of cash, but the payoff will probably worth it.
Having the rights to your photographs will not only give you leverage over your broker, but will also give you the freedom to use them on any platform you choose.
Real estate photographers specialize in their field, so make sure you hire an expert!
Remember to keep an eye on the weather forecast and schedule the shoot for a day with optimal natural lighting conditions, so rainy or foggy days won't fit! You are the one who runs the show, so make sure that your property is looking at its best.
Follow the tips outlined in the #1 "Prepare Your Home for Sale" video.
As a designer who specilalizes in preparing and staging homes for sale, I highly recommend to use white linens, many pillows, and a nice cover to create a clean, minimalist aesthetic.
Pinterest is a great space to get inspiration from. Before the photographer arrives, take a few photos of your own to get an idea of what the lens will capture.
The camera sees things that your eyes don't. And don't forget to make sure everything is spotlessly clean, from the windows to the sinks to the appliances, and most importantly - zero beddings wrinkles.
When it comes to the final photo selection, aim for around 35 shots that showcase the property's best features both inside and out, which means a variety of 150-200 photos to choose from. Thanks!
